Microdermabrasion for Skin Rejuvenation
Microdermabrasion is a skin rejuvenation treatment used to improve mild to moderate sun damage, acne scarring, and wrinkles. It allows for a deeper penetration of topical medications and skincare products.
Microdermabrasion, as the name suggests, is a less intense version of dermabrasion. Less skin is removed and as such, the recovery is easier and quicker, but it generally takes several treatments to see ultimate results.
Colen MD Plastic Surgery offers the latest in microdermabrasion technology with the DiamondTome system. This crystal-free system uses a diamond-tipped want to gently polish aging, sun-damaged, and acne-prone skin, leaving skin glowing, smooth, and fresh.
What results can I expect with Microdermabrasion?
DiamondTome Microdermabrasion is painless and safe. The results are comparable to a light chemical peel and should be immediately visible. Only a small amount of skin is removed with this procedure, so sensitive areas such as the face, chest, neck, arms, hands, and back can be treated.
For optimal results, microdermabrasion is often performed in conjunction with other procedures, such as laser facial and chemical peels.
When prescription-bleaching creams are used after the procedure, it is also very effective for the treatment of melasma. Multiple treatments are recommended for the full effect.
