Dr. Helen Colen Discusses Nose Reconstruction (Mohs Technique) on Channel 11.
Surgery to Reshape, Reduce, or Augment the Nose
Nose Surgery, also called Rhinoplasty and often referred to as “nose reshaping” or a “nose job,” is performed to improve the appearance of one’s nose. One of the most common plastic surgery procedures performed by Colen MD Plastic Surgeons is Nose Surgery.
While the shape of the nose is usually handed down from genetics, the appearance may have been adjusted in an injury or during prior surgery. Surgery of the nose may also be performed to correct impaired breathing caused by skeletal abnormalities in the nose.
What results can I expect with Nose Surgery?
Rhinoplasty is usually an outpatient procedure performed at our Manhattan Park Avenue Surgery and Bergen County Hackensack NJ office under either local or general anesthesia. The typical Nose Surgery lasts one to two hours.
Although subtle changes may be visible in the first few weeks following Nose Surgery, the final results of the surgery can take up to one full year to develop.
Dr. Steve Colen discusses Rhinoplasty with Geraldo.
Am I a Candidate for Nose Surgery?
Nose Surgery is generally performed to reshape, reduce or augment a person’s nose, remove a hump, narrow nostril width, change the angle between the nose and the mouth, or to correct injury, birth defects, or other problems that affect breathing.
As with any plastic surgery procedure, a Nose Job may not be the right solution for you. To find out if you are an ideal candidate for Nose Surgery, you should first schedule a consultation with our Plastic Surgeon Specialists.
