Designer Vagina

Designer Vaginoplasty

Designer clothes and now “designer vaginoplasty,” a reduction of the vaginal opening by tightening the surrounding muscles, all lead to an improved self image and self confidence of the female.

Pregnancy stretches the muscles and tissues around the vagina and the vaginal canal rarely return to its original size. The more children that a woman has, the more stretched her vagina is. Of course C section will not cause that, but rarely would anyone choose a cesarean section because they worry about their vaginal canal stretching. C section will also leave a visible scar on their abdomen. A better solution, of course, is vaginoplasty which is done on women whose vagina is very stretched and sometimes may even have disruption of the muscle sling around it. This structural defect may require major reconstruction of the vaginal canal.

There are women who even though never had children have a larger than normal vagina canal. These women may have a decrease in sensation during sexual activity thereby reducing sexual satisfaction and inability to climax. Kegel exercises are often recommended to strengthen the muscles which surround the vagina opening but are seldom effective in making any dramatic difference.

To tighten the vaginal canal, and thus allow for a better sensation during sexual activity a vaginoplasty surgery may be recommended. Vaginoplasty procedures, from minor to extensive may improve and somewhat eliminate the signs of childbirth and aging. These procedures often result in enhancing sexual activities.

A “designer vagina surgery” is considered a safe procedure that may take about one hour and is usually performed with anesthetia at an outpatient facility. During the procedure surgeon tightens the muscles and removes excess mucosa. There will be discomfort for the first few days but improvement is quick. The sutures used do not need to be removed as they are dissolvable.

After vaginoplasty the patient can usually return to work after about a week. Sexual intercourse can resume after six weeks when complete healing of the vagina area is achieved. There may be some discomfort on resuming sexual activity at first, however, an immediate increase in the tightness of the vaginal muscles along with a decrease in the diameter of the vagina is perceived. The changes in sensation may then allow the female to reach an orgasm where before there was difficulty.

Risks for vagina cosmetic surgery are low, and include scarring, anesthetic complications, bleeding or infection. Usually prophylactic antibiotics are given after surgery to reduce the chances of infection, and using a well recommended, experienced, physician will avoid all the other risks listed. Moreover, the patient should be comfortable with the surgeon they chose and feel that all their questions have been answered to their satisfaction.

Costs vary according to location in the country, but the range for vaginoplasty surgery is usually between $4,500 to $8,500. It is important to ensure that your surgeon is reputable and has been highly recommended by your physician or a health care practitioner.
